Academic Curriculum

Haslemere Preparatory School provides an holistic education under-pinned by quality, rigour, excellence and fun. Learning activities are designed to develop the whole child as an individual and careful thought is given to achieving breadth and balance in the curriculum. Our programme of joined-up education aims to arm pupils with the skills they need to flourish in later life.
Our co-educational Nursery and boys only Reception class work through the national Early Years Foundation Stage framework. Education in the primary years broadly follows the National Curriculum, although almost all our boys exceed its requirements.
In Years 7 and 8, pupils are thoroughly prepared for exams to senior schools set by the Independent Schools Examination Board. Specialist teaching is far more prevalent than in state primary schools and is available right through the school in some subjects. Our school has an excellent record of boys gaining places at reputable senior schools. These include Royal Grammar School, Charterhouse, Cranleigh, Churcher's College, Lord Wandsworth College, King Edward's School, Bedales, Seaford College, Portsmouth Grammar School and Frensham Heights.
