Prep School

Boys enter the Prep School in Year 3 and benefit hugely from the knowledge and enthusiasm of the specialist teachers who deliver the curriculum. A wide range of academic and non-academic subjects enrich the boys’ education.

We cater for the needs of  children of all abilities and streaming takes place from Year 4. Boys are carefully prepared to meet the entry requirements of a range of reputable senior schools. On the one hand, scholarships are secured to top academic schools, such as the Royal Grammar School, Guildford, whilst on the other, those with learning difficulties are given the support necessary to enable them to meet and indeed exceed their potential.

The boys are taught the importance of good values and develop life and leadership skills throughout their time in the Prep School. Pupils in Years 7 and 8 enjoy a range of responsibilities. They leave the school as rounded, confident, interesting individuals ready to make the most of their opportunities in later life.

The Prep School day runs from 8.30am until 4pm Monday through to Friday, although boys may arrive from 8am. Tea is served at 4pm, and optional supervised prep sessions and after school activities take place between 4.15pm and 5.15pm. Late prep takes place between 5.15pm and 6pm. There is no charge for early morning or after school care.
